Thank you for your benevolence in handling my block! (also, I apologize for not accepting the block- I should have come clear of my faults and made a promise not to make it happen again.) --Ksb0218

@Yamla This is the right place to submit a barnstar, right? Ksb0218 (talk) 07:39, 29 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
It is. Thank you very much! --Yamla (talk) 11:23, 29 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Guest 290758

I didn't understand why I was blocked. Can you please explain why I am blocked and what I need to do to be unblocked? In addition to the reason for the block, I want to know how long the block lasts.Thank Guest 290758 (talk) 19:41, 27 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

No. Please engage in the discussion on the noticeboard. Your block, which only affects articles, is indefinite. --Yamla (talk) 19:49, 27 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
What does it mean when the block is undefined and will I ever be able to edit Wikipedia again? Guest 290758 (talk) 19:51, 27 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
I didn't say undefined. "Undefined" is an entirely different word. Your block is indefinite. It will remain in place until you successfully contest it. You are getting nowhere here. You either need to contest your block (WP:GAB explains how) or you need to engage in discussion on the noticeboard. In any case, the block only stops you editing articles directly. It doesn't stop you suggesting edits (WP:EDITREQ). Now, please stop this conversation. I'm not responsible for your block and can't help you lift it. --Yamla (talk) 19:56, 27 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Edit requests

Hi Yamla,

You said I need to have a significant history of successful edit requests for my block to be overturned. But noticed that edit requests are only available for COI and protected articles. Could you please elaborate on this? Wistherdisc (talk) 11:34, 30 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

You are mistaken. You can make edit requests (outside of COI or protected articles). See WP:MAKINGEREQ. --Yamla (talk) 11:52, 30 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
I’m very sorry - I still can’t see the appropriate template to use. I see COI, protected and being paid to edit as reasons for request. I don’t see anything like “sanctioned user” reason for an edit request. Or are you saying I could just write a request without a template on a talk page? If yes then how will you have a record that the edits were successful? Wistherdisc (talk) 06:57, 31 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Yes, that's what I'm saying. I won't have a record that your edits were successful, but neither would anyone if you used other templates. --Yamla (talk) 10:28, 31 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Right, so how will I prove that I am a good faith editor if you won’t have records? Wistherdisc (talk) 11:06, 31 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
We have your contribution history. We (and everyone else, it's public) can see every edit you've made. --Yamla (talk) 11:52, 31 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
So just commenting suggestions on talk pages without templates will suffice? Wistherdisc (talk) 12:15, 31 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Yeap! Also, the responses you get will hopefully help guide you to more successful requests, over time. --Yamla (talk) 14:02, 31 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
