Edit summaries
[edit]Hey, we've been crossing paths on several articles, I see the points you've been making in your edit summaries - I wanted to let you know my POV.
1. I wish I had enough knowledge, time and access to enough sources to add all honours for players - but I don't. I add the recent ones that I am sure of and I can provide citations for. I do what I can, without adding false info - it's not my fault these articles/honours were previously neglected.
2. I use the standard RefToolbar for all my citations - if you have an issue with how sources are displayed, please take it up with the tool's creators, not with me or other editors.
Take care man - KibolLP (talk) 14:05, 25 May 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks for the message. Please note that i do think that you are one of the good editors here, taking care of Polish football(ers) and ALWAYS sourcing your edits; you are in the right with your actions, i am NOT with my summaries (well, most of them).
- Please refer to my userpage for more info, but i can tell as a heads-up that i have retired as of now. Not having fun anymore, not in a long (loooooooooooooooooong) time. If editors from X/Y/Z country take care of articles as well as you do to Polish ones, then WP:FOOTY will be in very good hands!
- Uściski dla Polski!, from Portugal RevampedEditor (talk) 18:09, 25 May 2026 (UTC)
- Never mind the above (the retirement, i mean), i guess i'll leave when i leave. Whistle if you need anything! RevampedEditor (talk) 17:46, 26 May 2026 (UTC)
Iraola
[edit]Just to let you know, I agree with the removal of the speculation. The only reason I didn’t remove it myself is that I was at risk of breaching WP:3RR after reverting “he is now manager of Liverpool” nonsense all morning. Keep up the good work and best wishes, ser! (chat to me - see my edits) 15:31, 30 May 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks for the kind words! But i "think" it will be added again, and again and again... LOL!
- Enjoy the rest of your weekend, from Portugal RevampedEditor (talk) 15:35, 30 May 2026 (UTC)
Keep it up
[edit]Just a heads up because it looks like things have been stressful for you. Personally, I've disabled Wikipedia on my computer and only have it on my phone for the time being in order to copyedit or undo vandalism (it's sunny outside and the removing "language=en-GB" tags by the journalist "Athletic, The" can wait for when it's raining, as can my next article about an Andorran player in the fifth division of Spanish football). Just remember that most low-key editors here just add the news (hence Iraola) and the relevant text will be stable in a few weeks or months. Also, the higher profile articles have other watchers to put things straight. Don't lose sight of why we use hobby websites in the first place, fun! Unknown Temptation (talk) 20:40, 31 May 2026 (UTC)
- I second that 300%! Enjoy the sun (lots of it - LOTS, almost suffocating at times!! - in my hometown)! RevampedEditor (talk) 21:44, 31 May 2026 (UTC)
- It's even made the news in England about how hot it was in Portugal . But I spoke too soon and now it's raining here again! However I'm not making any new pages for now. I'd made some about wacky matches (hence that recent WT:FOOTY post about when Liverpool were defeated by a children's toy in 2009). When I get round to it I'll make one about the only La Liga match to be voided for bribery - of course you know which one because you've updated the recently deceased middleman.
- Let's do what makes us feel better y nada más! Unknown Temptation (talk) 13:32, 1 June 2026 (UTC)
- "...Liverpool were defeated by a children's toy in 2009."...kindly do elaborate, i just visited WP:FOOTY and found nothing about the topic. It must have gone to the archives, and i don't feel like browsing through them.
- Cheers! RevampedEditor (talk) 19:55, 1 June 2026 (UTC)
- Sunderland A.F.C. 1–0 Liverpool F.C. (2009). A user posted on WT:FOOTY that the article had been mentioned on everyone's favourite pay walled New York Times asset.
- I remember this game because the whole country learned that the ball touching any other object must be resumed from a drop ball. Benítez, a highly academic manager, did not know this, nor did Steve Bruce from 30 years of professionalism, nor did Reina...and nor did the ref.
- The American sports seem to have more articles for these wacky games. The Snowplow Game looks like if Bodø/Glimt cleared their Arctic pitch, only when they have a free kick. Unknown Temptation (talk) 23:10, 1 June 2026 (UTC)
- Many thanks for the share! In three words (or letters, mind you)...L-O-L! :) :) RevampedEditor (talk) 23:29, 1 June 2026 (UTC)
Regarding Naingollan
[edit]Hi, just regarding my recent edits/ revision on the Radja Naingollan page. I have just now realized the typo of Beerschot as Berrschot (as I had retyped the sentence, I had not changed it to the wrong thing on purpose. sorry for the confusion). Other than that typo, I was wondering whether my contributions were fine or even needed. I'm relatively new to editing Wikipedia and was trying to improve the wording and flow of some sentences. You seem pretty experienced in editing, so some pointers would be appreciated!
Best, ParallelX (talk) 17:24, 6 June 2026 (UTC)
- Hello, good afternoon. Some of your changes were good, some were not all that needed (for example, if the club career is divided into sub-sections, no need to write club's name over and over again). We all make mistakes, so do not worry at all.
- Message me whenever you need anything, cheers! RevampedEditor (talk) 18:14, 6 June 2026 (UTC)
I've seen everything on this website now
[edit]I apologise for any category order-related disputes I've had with you before, this stuff is really annoying when it happens to me! And the user was told by Robby in December that this is against WP:FOOTY, and someone else said the rule applies across the board; he acknowledged both messages, and continues! Can you imagine a world where "Zimbabwean men's footballers" is the last thing listed about Benjani Mwaruwari, and "AJ Auxerre players" is the first? I noticed you had the last laugh a year ago when you could simply press undo after the user had the phenomenal task of alphabetising the categories on Jorge Costa (footballer) Unknown Temptation (talk) 21:43, 8 July 2026 (UTC)
- Indeed, in my humble opinion alphabetical categorisation is as messy as can be! Take care RevampedEditor (talk) 01:23, 9 July 2026 (UTC)
- Just seen Carmelo Cedrún was posted at WP:ITN/C, but the credits went to those who did basic housekeeping, not you who wrote the whole thing. Oh well, if we wanted reward for this we'd do it professionally. Just to let you know, there's another user who alphabetises EVERY recent deaths category despite MOS:CATORDER or MOS:VAR so remember to cite those when the inevitable happens in the middle of the night.
