Proposed deletion of Larry Harpel

[edit]
Notice

The article Larry Harpel has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Not enough in-depth coverage to pass WP:GNG, and really doesn't have even a single significant role, so doesn't pass WP:NACTOR.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Irving Elinson moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Irving Elinson, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Speedy deletion nomination of Ray Girardin

[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Ray Girardin requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ray Girardin. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Speedy deletion nomination of John Brandon (actor)

[edit]

Hello, MoviesandTelevisionFan,

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username John B123 and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I have tagged an article that you started, John Brandon (actor), for deletion, because a consensus decision previously decided that it wasn't suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. If you wish to restore a page deleted via a deletion discussion, please use the deletion review process instead, rather than reposting the content of the page.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top. If the page is already deleted by the time you come across this message and you wish to retrieve the deleted material, please contact the deleting administrator.

For any further query, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|John B123}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

On 13 April 2022, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Christian Herwartz, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Christian Herwartz, a Jesuit who lived in an open community in Berlin from 1978 to 2016, held "street exercises" and peace prayers? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Christian Herwartz. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Christian Herwartz), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Request reason:

In 2022, I was blocked for WP:CIR because my articles were horribly written and sourced, but I was only blocked on mainspace. I would like to get unblocked from mainspace since I have proven myself that my writing is now better quality. When I was blocked, I was only able to edit in draftspace and then I have started to submit my articles through WP:AFC and they've always got accepted. I have taken my time on writing better on my new articles and also verifying the sources I use with the right content. I would also remind that other users had also added more content to my new articles if you're gonna look at them. If I do get unblocked, I would use my editing for mainspace on linking my new articles and others; writing more new articles on politicians, sportspeople and tv-film people; adding obituaries and death notices to articles; and fixing up my old articles to make them high quality and readable. Thank you! MoviesandTelevisionFan (talk) 14:55, 14 January 2024 (UTC)

As one of the AfC reviewers who has accepted a number of MoviesandTelevisionFan's submission I concur with the request (I've been meaning to suggest they do this for a while). Draft:Wilbert Melville (old)

[edit]

I ran across this early filmmaker and photojournalist. I restored the deleted draft, statted my own, decided to combine them, but am not really sure how to proceed. Some sourcing issues with the old draft but I'm not wanting to get rid of all of it. Not sure if we can use the old documents cited? Other sources I don't have access to. I can write up a version with what is accessible but a lot would get taken out. Thoughts? Can you take over??? 21:40, 3 January 2025 (UTC)

I think what would be best is if you wrote a version that can be accessible, like it could just be a short stub for now and then I can help out in expanding the article. I'm not sure how to proceed in this old draft too, given that it received a comment in not being in an encyclopedic tone and that there's original research and was declined at AFC. Alan Haufrect

[edit]

For that user who drafted my article Alan Haufrect and claimed the "Married Couple Will Head Millbrook Acting Company" newspaper article talking about Alan Haufrect wasn't about him. It actually was about him, same guy who went to Yale School of Drama, same guy who toured Europe as a singer and performer which a soloist also does, same guy who is from Houston, Texas, since Haufrect was raised in Houston after his family relocated there and same guy who appeared in stage plays and commercial. He was also a son of a doctor, also known as a physician. I knew I was right about the information I put on the article. MoviesandTelevisionFan (talk) 21:15, 5 January 2025 (UTC)Reply

Notability question

[edit]

Hi there. Just a question on whether politicians are notable if they were not seated, eg Joshua Aldrich and Dawn Evans. Moondragon21 (talk) 21:06, 5 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

They are notable because in WP:NPOL, it states: "This also applies to people who have been elected to such offices but have not yet assumed them.", which this sentence specifies winning an election to a notable seat, but haven't been seated which this can clarify Evans being notable. There is many more people who haven't been seated, but have won, like List of members-elect of the United States House of Representatives who never took their seats, which all of them have blue-links, and most of them have not held offices before and were just member-elects to their first public office. MoviesandTelevisionFan (talk) 20:36, 5 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
That is what I thought. Thanks. Moondragon21 (talk) 06:13, 6 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

State reps listed as notable people in NH municipal article

[edit]

Hello, and thank you for your tireless efforts creating articles about New Hampshire legislators. I notice you've starting listing certain legislators in NH towns' "Notable people" sections. What is your criterion for including a legislator in a town's Notable People list? There have been dozens of legislators (or more) serving each town and city in the state over New Hampshire's history. Ken Gallager (talk) 12:37, 7 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

I include them in a town's notable people section if they were born there or if they were a resident there until their death, but also I include them for bluelinks because of how many of NH legislators are orphans. MoviesandTelevisionFan (talk) 15:52, 7 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

DYK for Jake Larson

[edit]

On 15 August 2025, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Jake Larson, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Jake Larson went viral on TikTok for discussing his experiences of World War II? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Jake Larson. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Jake Larson), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. [edit]

Could you please have a look at this draft? I think it was moved from mainspace for having one source (or mostly sourced to one source anyway). I added some notes on the talkpage and it seems he's involved in a Netflix project on a Civil War story? Or was.. Thanks! FloridaArmy (talk) 20:29, 1 September 2025 (UTC)Reply

I do see that he does meet WP:NCREATIVE, with directing the notable films Emily the Criminal and Huntington (film). That one source you left in the talkpage is a good source. I'll take a look at it. MoviesandTelevisionFan (talk) 20:43, 1 September 2025 (UTC)Reply

Hometown for John Borican

This edit added John Borican as a notable in the article for Paterson, New Jersey, but the source you cited places him as being from Bridgeton, New Jersey. Ways to improve Emmanuel Karsen

[edit]

Hello, MoviesandTelevisionFan,

Thank you for creating Emmanuel Karsen.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

I think JesuisMort.com is questionable source (minor issue, only used once) but there is heavy reliance on obituaries (typical for recently deceased). It may be helpful to add sources from during his lifetime. The lead is too detailed. Move detailed filmography to separate "Career" section? French Wikipedia may have more detailed article

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Noxoug1}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Jeff Maxwell

[edit]

I'm not convinced any of the sources you presented constitute sigcov. The first book has only one paragraph, the second doesn't seem to mention him at all outside a couple quotes, and the third is a one-paragraph article about a cookbook he wrote. I found no in-the-moment coverage from his time on M*A*S*H, nor even trivial mentions of things he did after M*A*S*H outside the one cookbook. Ten Pound Hammer(What did I screw up now?) 15:44, 22 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

The second does mention him from pages 46-47: "Jeff Maxwell best known for playing Private Igor Straminksky on the 20th TV series M*A*S*H, began work as a teenager on the 20th lot in 1967 printing screenplays and delivering interoffice memos for top-tier studio personnel who occupied offices in the three-story Zanuck-run Executive Building; he and movie-director-to-be John Landis also delivered studio mail, and Maxwell graduated to working in the Casting Department before pursuing his acting career. Recalled Maxwell, "More than any of the studios, 20th was a big deal". He is also mentioned in pages 101 and 102. The first book is actually not just one paragraph, there is a second paragraph incoming but is covered in the next page but is just cropped out. Also WP:SIGCOV states that "Significant coverage is more than a trivial mention, but it does not need to be the main topic of the source material". The article Gerard Gaynor has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fred N. Tittle: Alive? Died in 2002?

[edit]

I saw you made the article about Fred N. Tittle back in may 2022, with citations to newspapers.com. Do you still have access to the site? If so, can you verify wether or not it's the same guy mentioned here? Much appreciated. Sneakysasquatchfan (talk) 04:50, 26 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

I do have access to Newspapers.com, but my access to clipping was taken away, so I can only view from the search results. This might be the same guy according to the Clerk Manual of the Florida Legislature Page 152, when I searched up "fred n tittle 1920" in the Google Books search, the page said "1920, Nashville, Georgia. Moved to Florida 1926. Education University of Miami, J.D., 1954. Married Winnie R. Wells of Tampa..." It doesn't give access to the whole page but that's what it said from the search results of the page. Even though it shows a different spouse, in the book, it says the children are "Judy L. Day, Charles Porter", coming from more results. I cannot find any obituary in Newspapers.com. MoviesandTelevisionFan (talk) 15:55, 26 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Yes, when I searched the film in Newspapers.com for articles from 1973, there were numerous articles from Newsday that talked about the plot of the film, and it was referred as a television film from The Register-Guard. I'll try to look for more sources in Newspapers.com and more deeper in Google Books, as I did find something about the film from the Los Angeles Times.
