Happy First Edit Day!
[edit]| Happy First Edit Day! Hi Jameboy! On behalf of the Birthday Committee, I'd like to wish you a very happy anniversary of the day you made your first edit and became a Wikipedian! DaniloDaysOfOurLives (talk) 11:10, 22 April 2026 (UTC) |
- @DaniloDaysOfOurLives: Thank you for your kind wishes. Where did the time go, eh? I've been more or less winging it for 20 years but will try to become a "proper" editor... eventually. Cheers. --Jameboy (talk) 11:47, 22 April 2026 (UTC)

[edit]When creating episode redirects, please could you just use the {{Television episode redirect handler}} and NOT add content categories such as Category:2025 American television episodes or Category:2015 British television episodes. You will see why if you look at the categories and see what a mess this has created. --woodensuperman 14:59, 22 July 2026 (UTC)
- @Woodensuperman: Hi, thanks for your message. I took a look at the categories but I don't see a mess, could you explain a bit more what I'm looking for? The redirects are clearly marked in italics on the category page to distinguish them from articles. If that's not sufficient then there may be a way to filter them via existing category functionality or using a plug-in, so that only articles are displayed (I'll look into this when I get a moment). Alternatively, a subcategory for redirects could be created. It is valid to categorise redirects per the Honey Lantree example at WP:ACATR. --Jameboy (talk) 16:49, 22 July 2026 (UTC)
- The entire category tree is swamped by redirects, which makes finding the actual articles near impossible. The odd one or two redirects in categories is fine, but filling these categories with thousands of redirects defeats the point. Maintenance categories are for redirects, content categories are for articles. --woodensuperman 17:03, 22 July 2026 (UTC)
- @Woodensuperman: Please could you address the points I made in my previous comment? --Jameboy (talk) 21:32, 23 July 2026 (UTC)
