Maybe we could include the Mandela Effect as a little idk footnote in the legacy section because well it was a phenomenon that was observed because of him. Idk I think it would seem pertinent to add it Amber1138 (talk) 05:34, 24 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
His relation to the 'phenomenon' is preposterous given that it's largely just people mixing him up with Steve Biko, but I nonetheless would be inclined to briefly mention it as a small and unfortunate part of his legacy. Otto Askr (talk) 14:30, 22 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

The article states Mandela worked at "Terblanche and Briggish." The correct spelling of the surname is Brigish, not "Briggish." The double-g spelling originates from a misspelling in Mandela's autobiography Long Walk to Freedom and has been propagated across secondary sources. Supporting evidence for the correct spelling includes: the Woodmead School alumni page identifying Harry Brigish as founding chairman; the De Rebus legal journal (September 1979) referencing "Mr Harry Brigish"; the South African History Online Mandela timeline which also uses "Briggish" but is based on the same erroneous source. I am Alan Brigish a direct family member (son of Harry Brigish) and can confirm the correct spelling. Albrigi (talk) 18:54, 15 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
