Rationale for recreation after deletion
[edit]The people who proposed deleting and voted to delete this category really didn't do basic research, which is just another example of how flawed the deletion process on Wikipedia is. Independent Linux distributions are those that aren't based on another Linux distributions, e.g. Debian is independent because it is not based on another distribution, while Ubuntu being based on Debian is a dependent distribution on Debian. - No worries, I came up with a description based on this article, which seems to be a fitting definition for Linux distros that are "built from scratch". It's in the main page now. Big Blue Gnu 20:37, 17 December 2025 (UTC)
