TL;DR Welcome back to Dev Opportunity Radar. This is a weekly series where I share opportunities, resources, communities, and interesting finds ...

Hey, Hema! 👋🏻 Thank you for taking the time to prepare the DEV Opportunity Radar. It is such a great contribution to the community! 💛

The Missing Semester of Your CS Education seems especially interesting to me, as I am trying to deepen my technical knowledge. Will add it to my personal list of resources 😄

Thank you so much, Klaudia! That really means a lot 😀

I'm so glad you found The Missing Semester interesting! It's one of those resources I wish I'd discovered much earlier, so I couldn't resist including it. I hope you find it helpful too 😄

And I hope you're feeling better now and have had a chance to recharge a bit. Take care 💙

Hema, this genuinely made my day. 🙌

Discovering OpenAI Build Week through your Dev Opportunity Radar was a turning point for me. It pushed me to take a project I'd been building and actually ship it as a submission.

I've always believed in the power of building in public and sharing lessons — but seeing you feature that in your series reminds me why this community is so special. Thank you for creating this space and for giving builders like me a signal boost.

Rooting for you and the entire Dev Opportunity Radar community.

Anh, thank you so much. Reading this honestly means a lot 🧡

One of the reasons I started Dev Opportunity Radar was the hope that someone would discover an opportunity they might have otherwise missed. Seeing you find OpenAI Build Week through the series, build something, and ship it is exactly the kind of story I was hoping for.

Thank you for sharing your journey and your lessons with the community too. I loved featuring your story in this week's Reader Spotlight, and I hope it's the first of many community wins we get to celebrate together 😄

Wishing you all the best with AgentShare and whatever you build next 😀

Thank you, Hema. That means more than you know. 🙏

Stories like this don't happen without someone like you creating the space for them. You built the radar — we just followed the signal.

And yes, I hope this is the first of many community wins we get to celebrate together. I'll keep building and sharing the lessons along the way.

Wishing you and Dev Opportunity Radar a long and impactful journey. You're making a real difference — and I'm grateful to be part of it.

This series keeps getting better. I especially like that you don't just list opportunities, you explain why they're worth paying attention to. That context makes a huge difference. 👏

Thank you so much! That really means a lot because that's exactly what I've been trying to do with the series.

There are already plenty of places that list opportunities. I wanted Dev Opportunity Radar to help people understand why an opportunity might be worth their time and who it might be a good fit for, so they can decide where to focus their energy.

I'm really glad that part is coming across. Thanks again for reading and for the encouragement 😀

What opportunities, communities, grants, fellowships, hackathons, conferences, or resources have you come across recently that deserve more attention?

I am always looking for things to include in future editions, so feel free to share anything interesting you've found. If I feature one of your finds in a future edition, I'll always make sure to credit you.

If you discovered an opportunity through the radar, applied to something, joined a community, attended an event, or simply found something you hadn't seen before, I'd genuinely love to hear about that too. With your permission, I'd be happy to feature your update in a future 💙 Reader Updates section.

Small request: If you're sharing a link, please avoid posting raw URLs directly. DEV sometimes filters them before I get a chance to see the comment.

Hey Hemapriya. Nice list! The CALEC opportunity is still on-going. Was wondering if you can make it recurring every week until further notice. The opportunity is open or anybody and there isn't a due date to it. Thanks :D

Thank you, Francis 😄

After reading your comment, I actually went back and added the CALEC opportunities to the Community Finds section in this edition because I thought you were right; it deserves to stay on people's radar while it's still open.

My plan is to keep featuring it in future editions as well, as long as it's still active. It's also listed on the Dev Opportunity Radar website, so people can continue to find it there too.

One small favor though, if you notice they're no longer accepting volunteers or anything changes, please let me know. I'd love to keep both the series and the website as up to date as possible.

And thank you again for sharing it with the community in the first place 😀

No problem! It was fun seeing people who came from dev.to and getting the chance to interview them :D

I will let you know if it goes offline (though I doubt it).

Every time I read one of these editions, I'm reminded how much work goes into finding and verifying everything before it gets published. I really appreciate that you always take the time to explain what makes each opportunity stand out instead of simply sharing a list. Thank you for all the time and care you put into this series. 😊

Thank you so much, Shubhra! That really means a lot. I always try to go beyond just sharing links and add enough context so people can quickly figure out whether an opportunity is worth their time. I'm so glad that comes across 😀

Great compilation, Hemapriya! I really appreciate the thoughtful explanations
for each opportunity.

One small suggestion: most of the featured programs this week are in-person
(San Francisco, Cambridge). While The Missing Semester is excellent, it would
be helpful to see more online opportunities in future editions.

Also, a quick visual distinction at the top (like a clear table or filter showing
"Online" vs "In-Person") would make it easier to quickly scan what matches
someone's situation. Some people can relocate, others can't — a clear upfront
split would save scanning time.

Keep up the great work!

Thank you so much, Tomasz! I really appreciate both the kind words and the thoughtful suggestions.

That's a really good point. Not everyone is in a position to relocate, so making it easier to spot online versus in-person opportunities would definitely help readers scan the edition more quickly.

I'll definitely keep that in mind for future editions. I also want to make sure there's a good balance of online and in-person opportunities whenever possible, although some weeks naturally lean more one way than the other depending on what's available.

Thanks again for taking the time to share your feedback. Comments like this really help me improve the series 💙

What stood out to me is how different these opportunities are from one another, founder residencies, AI security research, student leadership, and developer education. It's a good reminder that career growth isn't a single path. Sometimes the biggest opportunities come from communities, programs, and experiences that aren't part of the traditional job search.

I completely agree, Anik. That's one of the reasons I enjoy putting these together. There are so many great opportunities beyond traditional job postings, and sometimes those experiences end up opening doors you never expected. Thanks for sharing your perspective 😀

Great compilation! The biggest advantage in tech today is not only having skills, but knowing where to apply them and finding the right ecosystems to grow.

Curating opportunities like these helps bridge the gap between talented builders and high-impact programs. Appreciate the effort behind collecting and sharing these resources with the community. Thanks for sharing Hema!

Thank you so much, Divyanshi 💙

I really like how you put that: "knowing where to apply them and finding the right ecosystems to grow." I couldn't agree more.

That's exactly what I've been hoping Dev Opportunity Radar can help with. There are so many great opportunities out there, but they're often scattered across different places and easy to miss.

Thanks again for reading and for taking the time to leave such a thoughtful comment 😀

Good to see AI security treated as a serious engineering discipline here. Securing these systems requires work across model behavior, infrastructure, identity, permissions, and runtime controls; not just better prompt filters.

Thank you, Suny! I completely agree. One of the reasons I wanted to include the Frontier AI Security Residency is because it highlights that AI security goes far beyond prompt engineering or model safety alone. It's a broad engineering challenge with many different areas to work on, and I think it's a space more developers should know about.

Thanks for adding that perspective to the discussion. I really appreciate it!
